Workshop Organization
The workshop began with overview presentations that were intended to
introduce some of the issues that might need to be considered to advance
the development of biological and coupled biological-physical models in
ocean ecosystems. Participants then broke into working groups to
discuss: 1) animal behavior, specifically why and how it should be
incorporated into models; 2) issues related to integration of models
across scales; and, 3) structural aspects of models. Early in the
workshop, the participants completed a questionnaire that was designed
to stimulate and focus the discussion of secondary production
modeling.
